Those Danglements

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Remember the post I did about Danglements? (see HERE)...well Rina has a new one in her store today. This one co-ordinates with the "Sea Spirit" Page Set.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out!

I blended two papers...I needed that lighter corner in the bottom for the Wordart to show up well. Isn't the Wordart amazing? I found it on the Tempus Fugit blog, and the shells are part of it! Super duper stuff!!!
Also...if you head on over to Rina's Reluctant Recluse blog, you will find this Quick Page, made by Kabra, waiting for you. It co-ordinates with the Something Nautical Page Set released today (see yesterday's post)

I used it for this LO
It is a beautiful, sunny day here...with a stiff breeze, I'm blogging while hubby is sailing!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Using Rina Kroes' 'Tropical Sunset' Kit, the alpha is Tracey Monette's 'Watery Alpha', the shells are by Jen Ulasiewicz and the wet sandy blob is by Flergs. the font is TXT LongHand.

I just found out, earlier this evening, that a super collab page set has become available again!

'"Sunday Afternoon".......what memories does that evoke in you? An afternoon sipping tea on your patio? Or gardening? Perhaps it's church services...a walk in the park... a visit to mom or a dear aunt... All of these and more are wrapped up in this mega collaboration by some of your favorite Scrapbook-Elements designers: Rina Kroes, Betty Jo Martin, Saxon Holt, Vickey Morrissey, Tracey Monette, Kiki Halbert, Julie Jorgenson, and Miki Ferkul.'

Sunday Afternoon can be found in the 'specials' section at Scrapbook-Elements. I don't know how long this will be available for though...

See the items in the store for previews of the contents!
Here is a LO I made with it back in March :

An Enchantingly Lazy Afternoon

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Now that sounds like a summer afternoon to me...

New from Gypsy Couture this week : 2 'mini kits'. Although smaller than her usual kits, not exactly 'small'. Lots of delightful goodies for making great pages.

and my LO

and there is 'Lazy Afternoon'

and my LO.

I turned the LO into a Quick Page freebie for you. I left the pictures larger, that way if you should print at 8x8 or a photo book, you will still end up with nice big portraits/pictures.

I'll be back on the weekend with a wonderful new release from Rina Kroes...

It is a girl thing, I'm sure...

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I really like cosmetics. Maybe it is the artist in me? Maybe the woman? Whatever it may be....I really like to look, feel, smell, pick up, shake and in general oggle cosmetics. A bad bout of conjunctivitis, many years ago, put a damper on my use of cosmetics though, particularly make-up and mascara. That's been a real "ugh"...but fortunately nail polish is till allowed, LOL and although I tend to go through phases wearing it, I'm sure I will always do so. It is just that if you use your hands as much as I do, AND you hate the little white rims of rubbed off polish on your nails (so that you hardly go 2 days before it is time to redo...) it can almost amount to being a 'job' keeping my hands looking good.

But looking at shelves and shelves of pretties in the supermarket doesn't take nearly as much effort! ROFLOL!

All Those Beach Pictures...

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I have so many sea, water and beach pictures, that I am always very happy to find a great kit to scrap them with. I have found and album's worth of pages in 'Free By The Sea" and the "Free By The Sea Extras", released by Gypsy Couture today. Just take some time to look at these previews, doesn't it just make you want to scrap? LOL it sure gives me the urge!!!

I posted a LO on Sunday using these 2 kits (see previous post) and I also did this LO :

I used the basic plan for this LO for my freebie Quick Page for today. It is slightly different because my page is done at 8x8 while the QP is 12x12....it makes quite a difference to the proportions! (btw, the colour shift on the picture is curious : this is a panoramic composite of 3 pictures and one had such totally different colour from the rest....beats me why ;-))

These two kits are on sale today...pick them or put them on your wishlist : you will find them a most valuable addition to your collection!

You can pick your freebie up HERE, and THANK YOU Lisamarie for letting me give your stuff away so regularly...I feel like the 'nice' aunt spoiling everybody with gifts! ROFLOL. Remember to drop by Lisamarie's blog for news, sneak peeks and give aways! You can also find a link to her blog on the list at the top right of this blog...just click on Gypsy Couture and you're on your way!

See you soon...this has been a bust week, but surely it cannot last forever!

A Beautiful Beach Day

It was such an amazingly beautiful day. Yesterday. The perfect day, and I got to spend it, well the entire afternoon at least, on a nearby beach. It was a party for our youngster's friend, but seeing as these youngsters are no longer 'little' we actually were more busy watching the crows (so they don't share the treats!) than the kids. But I cannot think of a finer way to spend time than with the best of friends at such a location, on such a day.
The kit used for my LO, is "Free By The Sea" by Gypsy Couture, and will be available on Thursday, May the 14th. Don't miss this one. It is simply gorgeous. I could do a whole album with it and not get tired of it, I'm sure!

Have a wonderful week and check back on Thursday for another LO and some previews of the new kit. I hope to post a Quick Page for you too.

An Early Mother's Day Gift

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Not again! That was my first thought when I heard the sound of a bird hitting the large picture window...this time it was a female Rufous Hummingbird. I picked her up and held her warm and cozy in my hand until she revived, allowing me time to take these pictures. She recovered quickly and soon was buzzing around as if nothing had happened...but I feel like I had been given a special treat and privilege, holding her thus in a safe place.

I used Cathy Bretz' "Delicate" Page set for this. The tag was made using one of Cathy's papers and a distressed chipboard style by Cheryl Barber. (ScrapGirls) The date stamp is by Amber Clegg (Scrapartist) and the alpha is Kimberly Stewart's 'Rusted Chipped Alpha" I also added an "Elegant Border" overlay, by Rina Kroes, to the right side of the bg. The staples are also by Rina.

Remembering Ouma

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

The picture in this LO holds a special place in my heart. My Ouma was never fond of having her picture taken, so to have her look straight at the camera and even show a little smile is very special. This was taken when we were on holiday way back in 1963. You can see me playing, presumably in the sand, in the background. I think this was taken in Southbroom on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast (in South Africa) as I do know there was a tea house there that my folks really liked.
Aaaaah! The memories of those yearly family holidays, how precious and sweet they are!

I used Gypsy Couture's fun and very lovely new 'Happy makes The World Go Round' page set for this.

And here is a little freebie for you. If you like the Quick Page : bear in mind that what you see on there is only a fraction of the goodies you will find inside the full page set...do check it out!

You can download the Quick page HERE

Not Just For "Angels"

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I scrapped a couple of pages last night, and I used two great kits for them....but I wanted to show you, because when I first saw the kits I thought 'I'll pass on those' because the themes did not seem like something I can use...then I looked closer and realized I was wrong, and by the time I had unzipped the files and looked through the kits, I knew I had found the perfect kits for these pages of the boys...boys who really are young men, but I guess to moms boys are always boys? LOL Here is the first one, and I used "Country Angels" (ROFLOL- yeah I can hear my friends laughing!) and "Shenanigans on The Shoreline" for it.

See the sandy blobs, the boat and the shell? That's from Shenanigans...see the burlap bg? the wire etc? That's from "Angels" and I tell you, I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out. I may check the blend mode used on the picture, before I print this, though, as I'm not sure about the way it distorts how he looks there. On this small scale he looks all strangely chubby in the face....something he is not at all.

And here is another LO made using 'Country Angels' I included the rustic heart charm on both pages...'cause I'm a Mom and I love my boys.....

And here are the linked previews to the kits used, if you would like to take a closer look! Don't be limited by what a kit may sound like...take a good look and you may find the perfect match for your pictures in a less 'obvious' page set! I know I did...

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Got cute to scrap? Then look no further than Lorilei Murphy's "Sugar" and until May 4th you can pick up this cutie for only $1.50. (that was exactly $183CAD this morning) You will find it at Lor's Rosey Posey Studios (check the store for sale details on other items)

I don't have any girls to scrap with cuteness like this, but I do have "old" pictures of myself from way back when I was cute LOL and lots of my sisters(they are still cute! ROFLOL), so you betcha I bought this baby!
Off to go scrap!!!!
